Terms of Service

ChurchConnect is an online platform where ministry candidates build profiles, churches look for candidates and post roles, and ministry schools confirm their students and graduates. We provide the tools. We are not an employer, recruiter or staffing agency, we are not a party to any hiring decision, and we do not guarantee that any candidate will be hired or any role will be filled.

We do not independently check candidates, churches, references or schools. Information on the platform comes from its users. A school's verification means that school has told us the person is its student or graduate, and nothing more. Do your own diligence, including background and reference checks, before hiring or working with anyone.

• You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement.
• Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• You may not impersonate anyone or claim to represent a church or school you are not authorized to represent.

You own what you post. You give us a limited license to store, display and share your content on the platform as described in our Privacy Policy, so that churches and schools you choose to be visible to can see it. You promise that you have the right to post it, that it is accurate, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break the law. Do not upload anything you do not have permission to share.

Creating a candidate profile is free, and you can hide it from churches at any time. Anything you share on a published profile can be seen by people who are allowed to view it, so share only what you are comfortable with.

Career consulting and the Birkman assessment are optional services delivered by a third-party partner, not by ChurchConnect. We pass your request and contact details to that partner, and fees and terms for the service are agreed with them. A badge on your profile shows only that you completed the service. It is not an endorsement or certification by ChurchConnect, and we do not guarantee any outcome. Birkman is a trademark of its owner.

• You are responsible for your hiring decisions and for complying with the laws that apply to you as an employer or organization.
• Use candidate information only to consider and contact candidates about ministry roles with your church. Do not copy, resell, scrape or share candidate information, or use it to market to them.
• Post only real roles that you are authorized to fill, with accurate descriptions.
• Be honest and respectful in your communications. Do not harass, pressure or mislead candidates.

A school that verifies a candidate confirms that the person is a current student or graduate. Verify only people you can confirm, and remove a verification if it stops being accurate. We may remove a verification or a school's access if we believe it is wrong or misused.

A reference is the opinion of the person who wrote it. We do not verify it. Do not submit a reference that is false, defamatory, or that you do not have the right to give.

• Break the law, or post content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, deceptive or sexually explicit.
• Collect information from the platform by automated means, or try to get around its access controls.
• Interfere with or overload the service, or probe it for security weaknesses without permission.
• Use the platform to send spam, advertise unrelated products, or solicit money.
• Post content that infringes someone else's rights, or that contains malware.

Some features, including viewing the candidate pool and posting roles, may require a paid plan for churches. Prices and what each plan includes are shown on the billing page before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew until you cancel, and you can cancel from the billing page, after which access continues to the end of the period you paid for. One-time passes do not renew. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires or where we decide to make an exception. During any free pilot or promotional period we may change, limit or end free access with reasonable notice.

You can flag content you believe breaks these terms. We may review, remove or hide content, and suspend or end accounts that break these terms or put others at risk, with or without notice. You can stop using ChurchConnect at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account (see our Privacy Policy).

ChurchConnect is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that information on it is accurate or complete.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities or lost data, arising from your use of the platform or from any dealings between users. Our total liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

You agree to defend and reimburse us for claims, losses and costs arising from your content, your use of the platform in breach of these terms, or your violation of anyone's rights, to the extent the law allows.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and by continuing to use ChurchConnect after a change you accept the updated terms. For significant changes we will make a reasonable effort to let you know.
